We are located in Sweet Home, Oregon at the base of the Cascade Mountains. Owner/breeder Connie DeBusschere grew up with English Shepherds and has been working with dogs for nearly 30 years. She has been a Vet Technician, assistant 4H leader, assistant trainer, obedience instructor and competitor in obedience, agility and conformation. She has taught agility classes for the Willamette Agility Group and Puppy / Basic obedience classes for the Linn County Kennel Club. She now teaches her own companion dog training and Agility classes. Connie has attended the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) 2004 annual conference, attended APDT educational and training seminars, Oregon State University behavior seminars 2005/2006, Patricia McConnell behavior seminar 2009, Pat Hasting’s Structure In Action Workshop 2010 and continues to study dog behavior, current training methods and structure of the working dog. Connie is the current President of the United English Shepherd Association, working to promote and preserve this historical breed.

Breeding quality pure bred English Shepherds from classic lines. All litters are planned, breeding stock are evaluated, pedigrees and history are researched. Hips are evaluated and cleared through PennHip and/or OFA.

Puppies are raised in house with emphasis on well balance, well socialized adaptable puppies. They are handled daily, exposed to household sounds, introduced to new objects and people, exposed to livestock and farm equipment sounds. Each puppy is handled and worked with individually. Puppies are introduced to basic training at 4 & 5 weeks old and house training is started. They are evaluated for structure and temperament to help match puppies to their new homes.

To help ensure a successful start with a new puppy, Connie provides information to new owners on the development of the puppies, training (house training and basic obedience), what to look for in a good puppy food, equipment like toys, leashes, collars, x-pens, crates etc.

Connie takes great pride in being a responsible breeder. To check her work she stays in contact with each puppy owner, following up on each puppy as they grow into wonderful dogs. For the owners, she provides assistance, information and support as needed through out the life of the dog.
